Many things that seem awful when they’re happening take on a humorous glow in retrospect. Distance grants us the grace to laugh at ourselves and at the intensity with which we viewed perceived catastrophes. As time passes and the incident we knew would end all hopes for a good life shrinks to a proportionate size. It’s even fun, sometimes, to remember, shake our heads and enjoy a good chuckle at the absurdity of calamities overcome. “Funny in the Rear View Mirror” segments will showcase these moments for our enjoyment.
