Special Treasure- Brett!

Brett, aged 15, is the youngest child in a family of six awesome kids who adore their brother Bretty. Brett and his family don’t let autism stop him from enjoying a fun, full life.

A good athlete, Brett swims like a champ, does cheer/tumbling, plays tennis, and hikes on the weekends with his social group. One of the things his family enjoys is hanging out at the lake, swimming, kayaking, and riding tubes. Recently, he was part of “Surfers for Autism” at Tybee Island and did really well catching waves!

But Brett is also a cultured kind of teen! He loves music and dancing. Brett takes private lessons and is part of a music therapy group. This means he does at least two performances every year. He loves school, and excels at spelling and art.

His family jokingly calls Brett their human GPS. Once he’s been somewhere fun, he can tell you exactly, turn by turn, how to get back there! But he’s a go-go kind of guy, so although he knows his way home, too, his directions might not take you home if they’re supposed to, but to another fun venue!

Hats, caps, sombreros and fedoras off to Brett, our all-around special treasure.
